The famous Trilemma has been called the most important argument in Christian apologetics.  It was first cited by the American preacher Mark Hopkins in his book Lectures on the Evidences of Christianity (1846) and later used by Scots preacher “Rabbi” John Duncan around 1859-60: “Christ either deceived mankind by conscious fraud, or He was Himself deluded and self-deceived, or He was Divine. There is no getting out of this trilemma. It is inexorable.” It was popularized by C. S. Lewis in Mere Christianity, then made famous in the last several decades by Josh McDowell in his high school and college ministries.
The main purpose is to force the individual to consider the clear claims of Christ by showing the inconsistencies of alternate views.  Every Christian should have this bookmark in his Bible.

Most people have become used to the vertical format of this chart, as popularized for decades by the flow chart line illustration used in the Josh McDowell books.

In the horizontal format, the themes unfold from left to right in a normal reading style.

Each illustration appears as two per page on the front side and two per page on the back side. When the front and back are printed, the sheet can be cut in half and trimmed to fit most Bibles as a large bookmark (or redi-reference guide). Lamination is recommended for copies that are used in continued personal use, although paper copies could be kept on hand for distribution to interested individuals. The PDF download includes both designs.
